2. Installation
- Site the machine with at least 100 mm clearance at the rear for the exhaust, and level it using the adjusters before loading paper.
- Set the address, subnet and gateway from Settings, Preferences, Network. Departmental machines should be static.
- Register the department or user codes before rolling out driver packages, otherwise jobs are rejected with an authentication error.
- Configure the address book and scan destinations once, then export the settings file as your restore point.
3. Drivers and network
- Deploy the UFR II driver by group policy for Windows fleets. Enable secure print in the driver profile so jobs wait at the device until released.
- For guest workstations, the built-in IPP profile prints without any vendor driver but has no finishing controls.
- Keep one exported settings file per machine. Rebuilding an address book by hand after a mainboard swap takes hours.
4. Maintenance schedule
Intervals below are for typical office use. Machines in dusty rooms or running heavy graphics need the shorter end of each range.

5. Common faults
Colour drift over a few weeks
Run the auto gradation adjustment from Adjustment/Maintenance. Full adjustment takes a few printed test pages and is worth doing after every toner change.
Line on one side of duplex copies only
One of the two ADF scan surfaces is dirty. Clean both, then copy a blank sheet to confirm.
Jobs vanish without printing
Authentication is on and the driver has no department code. Check the job log at the panel; rejected jobs are listed there.
E-code on the panel
A hardware error that needs service. Write down the full code and the sub-code before restarting.
Scan to email fails for large files
The mail server file size limit. Lower the scan resolution, or switch the destination to a folder and send a link.
